GRAND ITALIAN CUISINE & ART TOUR

The Parma region is the site of many of Italy's most famous food products. This tour will enable you to see where and how the regional delicacies are prepared as well as enjoy tasting them. From Parma prosciutto to Parmesan Reggiano cheese, local Italian wines, and Modena balsamic vinegar.

The tour will offers the opportunity to see some rare collections of art in the region. The Luigi Magnani collection which includes works of Tiziano, Rubens, Goya, Monet and Renoir to name a few. Then see the famous frescoes by Francesco Mazzola in the Fontanellato castle. Also, for car and design enthusiasts there is the Ferrari Museum.

This package is do-it yourself prearranged with a recommended itinerary, four star hotel accommodation, buffet breakfast and dinner daily.

Day 1 Independent arrival in hotel. Welcome drink with Malvasia wine and Parmesan Cheese. Visit historic center of Parma. Typical dinner at Maxim's restaurant in the hotel and overnight.

Day 2 Explore Parma region Breakfast in hotel. In the morning before 8:00 self departure for dairy farm to see production process of Reggiano Parmesan, Italy's great cheese. Then visit a Parma Prosciutto factory to see the world famous Italian ham.

Optional Tours which can be arranged for you include:

Lunch in a winery "pinacoteca del gusto"
Visit Torrechiara castle, high on the hillside surrounded by vineyards
Visit to the Magnani Foundation to see a prestigious art collection of Luigi Magnani

In the evening return to hotel. Classic Parma dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Buffet breakfast in hotel. Day on your own. Optional tours which can be arranged for you include:

Soragna: Visit of the Parmesan Cheese Museum
Fontanellato: See the famous frescoes of the castle.
Zibello: Visit of Culatello ham cellars and tasting

Return to hotel for a fish menu dinner. Overnight.

Day 4 Breakfast in hotel. Depart for Modena to visit a balsamic vinegar factory. Optional tour which can be arranged:

Maranello: Visit to Ferrari Museum.
